One of my hobbies is flying an antique Cessna made in 1966. It is officially designated a Cessna 337, known as the Skymaster. The military version was made in the 1960s and bore the designation O-2. They were used for forward air control and spotting in Vietnam. You can see one in action in the movie BAT 21 starring Gene Hackman and Danny Glover. Here's a picture of our old bird in its hanger. Ours was always a civilian aircraft and is wonderful family transportation. I was a pilot for for a number of years for Angel Flight Southeast, non-profit volunteer pilot organization involved in "public benefit flying". Angel Flight Southeast provides a variety of services to the community. They arrange free air transportation, via private aircraft, for those with medical or compelling human needs that qualify for these services. Angel Flight Southeast, part of a nation-wide group of volunteer organizations, is a wonderful outfit. Link to their excellent web site and see what they do. You may wish to help.
